FWhat is an interesting fact about yourself? I grew up on my grandfathers farm learning the meaning of hard work.
Why did you go into the hospitality industry? My first hotel stay was in the Palmer House in Chicago. I remember how exilerated I felt to be in this historic property. I knew from that moment hospitality was my future.
Melanie brings over 35 years of hospitality experience to The Dow Hotel Company. She quickly worked her way from a guest service agent to Reservations Manager to Systems Trainer with Hilton Hotels Corporation. In the early years of her career she had the fortunate opportunity to work as several iconic historic hotels in Chicago, Miami and San Francisco. Her passion for Revenue Management and the sales process was sparked during her time as Front Office Manager at The Drake Hotel in Chicago.
Melanie is responsble for providing on-property revenue management strategy support to maximize revenue and increase market share. Although her main responsbility is revenue management, Melanie assists with sales and marketing initiatives to align with revenue goals.
Melanie holds a business degree from Valparaiso University, certificates from Cornell University and is a member of HSMAI. In her spare time, Melanie enjoys all outdoor activities and spending time with her family.
